Functie omschrijving [functie_o]

You are responsible for establishing the architectural direction and maintaining an overview of what gets built by the teams in the data area and how they interface with other IT components like our media platforms, back-end services, and front-end applications. But perhaps more importantly, you help the ‘entire’ organization to become truly data-driven. You steer and influence others outside of our area towards an organizational data-mesh transformation.

You are the beacon of reason within the data area and an evangelist to the wider organization. With this transformation towards a data mesh, we have three objectives:

  1. increase the stability of our data landscape

  2. increase self-service data capabilities

  3. reduce the complexity of our data lake

  • One day, you guide the teams in their architectural decisions. Next, you're involved in refinements of our roadmap. Even later, you are meeting your fellow architects within and outside of your area about the roadmap of the entire IT department.

  • We believe in co-development across teams. We do this by gathering all teams on a bi-weekly colocation day where we address topics hackathon-style. As the area's architect, you bring and prepare technical topics for the agenda of the colocation day.

  • You are a protagonist in harmonizing our data landscape across countries, over departments, and through acquisitions.

  • Building bridges with other teams and IT areas in the organization comes naturally to you; you are a self-starter able to sell a vision and influence others (including senior management).

  • You represent the technical concerns of the area in an assertive, diplomatic and collaborative matter.
